Neti Pot

Anyone out there use the Neti Pot? What do you think?

It's a little goofy looking to see someone use one - like something The Soup would rip on. But I've had two people give me rave reviews on it helping them with their allergies. I live in the allergy capital of the world, so I wouldn't mind a little non-chemical assistance with mine. I'm thinking seriously about buying one.

Any downside to it?

I am just not sure I could pour liquid into my nose - it would be too much like drowning, I would think.

Now, Scott and I found a product that has REALLY helped us this year - it is called D-Hist and is a capsule you take. It is found in health food stores (I'm not even sure GNC carries it - only one place in NB has it). One of the kids in my class has a mom who is a holistic nurse and recommended this to me - it has made SUCH a difference!

Cedar season cometh - get ready regardless what you decide to do!

I haven't tried a Neti Pot, but on the advise of a fellow allergy sufferer, I tried pouring a dilute mixture of apple cider vinegar throgh my nose.

The result?

Agonizing pain, plus I got MORE congested, not less.

Personally, I think this is just another crackpot granola "cure" for what ails you. I think the pharmaceutical industry is by and large evil, but at least most of their stuff works.

Tony swears by the Netti Pot. He suffers terrible allergies and has found this really helps. Plus, he likes that it is natural. It is awkward at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's a true relief. I say go for it. $14 at Walgreens.
